About Doodle Post

Doodle Post is a draw-and-guess game for two people who are not in the same room, or even the same day. You pick one of three words, draw it, and post the card to a friend. When they open it they do not see a finished picture: they watch it appear stroke by stroke, exactly as you drew it, hesitations and all, while they spell the answer from a bank of letters. The moment the last letter lands, both of you earn ink, and ink buys colours for your next card.

Every pair of players has a streak, and every fifth card in a row pays a bonus to both sides, which is what turns a one-off doodle into a habit. There is no clock on any of it. A card waits in the inbox for two weeks, so a round can take twenty seconds or a fortnight and the game does not mind either way. In a lobby it works the same, with the people at the table offered as recipients first; on its own page it is the inbox for every card anyone has ever sent you.

Doodle Post Rules

  • Pick a recipient: somebody in your lobby, a friend from your friends list, or an open card that anyone with the link can answer.
  • Choose one of three words. Easy pays 1 ink, Medium 2, Hard 3 - to both the drawer and the guesser, once the card is guessed.
  • Draw with the colours you own. Five are free. The rest are bought one at a time with ink earned in the game, or with site credits in the shop.
  • Modifiers make the drawing harder and the card worth more: One Line (the pen never lifts), Blindfold (the paper stays blank while you draw), Mirror (every stroke is doubled left to right) and Speed Sketch (thirty seconds, then it sends itself).
  • The guesser watches the drawing replay stroke by stroke and spells the answer from a bank of letters. Wrong answers clear the slots and count against you, but never end the card.
  • A Peek reveals one letter for 2 ink. A Bomb removes four decoy letters for 3 ink. Hints are paid up front and never reduce the payout.
  • Giving up reveals the word, pays nothing, and resets the streak between you and the drawer.
  • Every fifth card in a row between the same two people pays 3 bonus ink to each of them.
  • Two people take turns: you draw, they guess it and draw one back, then you guess theirs. Nobody sends two in a row. After guessing you can react to the card, then pick a new word and draw the next one. If the other person has not drawn back in three days, either of you may draw next.
  • Cards wait two weeks for an answer, then expire.

Tips to Win

  • Draw the silhouette first and the detail last. The guesser sees your order, and a shape they recognise early keeps them watching instead of tapping Skip.
  • Colour is a clue. A yellow circle with lines is a sun; a black one is a tyre. Buying two or three of the right colours changes what you can say in a single stroke.
  • A hard word with two modifiers pays six or seven ink in one card, which is a whole colour. Take the risk with somebody who guesses well.
  • As the guesser, watch the whole replay before spending ink. Most drawings give themselves away in the last five strokes.
  • Bomb before Peek. Removing four decoys from a twelve-letter bank usually leaves the answer readable; a Peek only ever gives you one letter.
  • Keep one streak alive with one reliable friend. The every-fifth bonus is the best ink rate in the game.

Best for

Doodle Post is for people who liked Draw Something and miss it, for friends in different time zones who cannot get a lobby together, and for anyone who would rather play a game in the gaps of a day than in one sitting. It suits players who enjoy drawing badly as much as drawing well, because a bad drawing that still gets guessed is the funniest thing in the game. It is a two-person game at heart, but a lobby of ten can trade cards in every direction, and an open card can be dropped into any group chat.

Doodle Post FAQ

No. A card sits in the inbox until the other person opens it - a minute later or a week later. Nothing about the game is live.

Same idea, our own game. Doodle Post replays your drawing stroke by stroke with your real timing, adds modifiers like Blindfold and One Line that make a card worth more, lets you post open cards to anyone with a link, and keeps a streak per friend with a bonus every fifth card.

Ink is the game's own currency. You earn it when a card you drew is guessed and when you guess somebody else's, and you spend it on colours and hints. It is not site credits and it does not affect XP or the leaderboard.

Yes. Every colour is also in the shop for site credits, which you earn playing any game on the site. Elite members get the whole palette included.

The word is revealed, nobody earns ink for that card, and the streak between you and the drawer resets to zero.

The answer is on the card, so a determined person could dig it out of their browser. There is nothing to gain by it: ink buys colours in this one game and nothing else, and the only person they would be fooling is the friend who drew the card.

Yes. In a lobby the people at the table are offered as recipients first, and every card is an ordinary card - it stays in both inboxes after the lobby closes.

It was built for one. The paper is a square that fills the screen width, the brush follows your finger, and the letter bank is sized for thumbs.
