Night Market
Play a free idle tycoon game online with friends. Run rival food stalls on one shared street, undercut the others, and reset each night for lasting upgrades.

About Night Market
Night Market is an idle tycoon game built for a group rather than for one person grinding alone. Everybody in the lobby runs a food stall on the same street, and the street has one crowd. Customers pick a stall by quality, hype and price, so every upgrade a rival buys is taken directly out of your queue: when the stall next to you fits a bigger griddle, your income graph bends downward in real time. A night lasts around two minutes, and when the market closes everything resets.
Your profit converts into permanent stars, your griddle and recipes and signage go back to nothing, and the next night opens with a bare cart and a better multiplier. That is the prestige loop idle games normally spread over a week, compressed into a single sitting so a group can play the whole arc together. Between the buying there is one Rumor card each per night to aim at a rival, which is where the accusations start.
How to Play Night Market
Night Market Rules
- There is no match length. The market opens and keeps running, night after night, until the host closes it.
- You open with nothing: no money, no staff, and no income. Customers queue up, and you serve them yourself one at a time until you can afford to hire.
- Your first Crew member is the automation unlock. They serve customers for you, and every cook after them takes more of the counter off your hands until you never touch it again.
- Every stall trades on one shared street. The customers who arrive each second are split between the stalls by appeal, so your income depends on what your rivals are doing.
- Appeal comes from recipe quality plus signage hype, adjusted by the price tier you set. Cheap pulls a bigger queue for less money per plate; premium does the opposite.
- Your griddle sets how many customers per second you can actually serve. Anyone you cannot serve walks to a rival with room, so hype without throughput feeds the stall next door.
- Spend your takings on six upgrades: Griddle and Crew for throughput, Recipe and Lanterns for appeal, Signage for hype, and a Delivery Bike that chases down customers who gave up on your queue.
- Every half minute or so the street floods for a rush. The crowd more than doubles for a few seconds, and only a stall with spare griddle can take it - so holding cash for capacity before a rush beats spending it on appeal.
- Each player holds one Rumor card per night: send a health inspector, poach a chef, or start a rumor about a rival. One target, one use, then it is gone until the next night.
- When the night closes, profit converts to permanent stars and everything else resets to a bare cart - including your staff. Stars raise your appeal and takings, and they also start you partly staffed, so the hand-served opening gets shorter every night until it disappears.
- When the host closes the market, the highest total profit across every night wins. A part-finished night still counts.
Tips to Win
- Buy a griddle before you buy hype. Pulling a queue you cannot serve hands those customers straight to your rivals, which is the most common way a first night is wasted.
- Watch what everyone else charges, not just what you charge. Premium is strong while the street is small and everyone has spare capacity; cheap only pays once your throughput is genuinely high.
- Profit is takings minus spending, so a huge shopping spree in the last thirty seconds of a night can cost you a star. Stop buying before the bell.
- Stars compound. A star earned on night one is working for you for every night after it, which makes an early aggressive night worth more than a late one.
- Aim the health inspector at whoever is leading in the last minute of a night, when their income per second is highest and the lost time hurts most.
- Crew is the quiet counter to sabotage. If the room has decided you are the target, one crew hire takes real seconds off every card played at you.
Best for
Night Market is for groups who like idle and tycoon games but do not want to play one alone over a week. It suits players who enjoy watching numbers grow, arguing about pricing, and the specific satisfaction of resetting everything for a multiplier. It also works solo: on your own you run your own stall, which keeps trading between sessions and carries its progress with you whether you open it from a lobby or on its own. There is no reading speed, drawing or trivia knowledge involved, so it works for mixed groups where a word game would not.
