About Team Sketch

Team Sketch is a drawing game where nobody has to sit out. Everyone on a team sees the same word and draws on one shared canvas at the same moment, each player in their own colour, while an AI looks at the canvas every few seconds and says what it thinks it is. The round ends the moment the AI names the word. Before the game the host picks how to play. In a race, two or three players each get their own canvas and the same word, and the first drawing the AI names wins it; with four to eight players the room splits into a Blue team and a Pink team instead.

In Draw together, everyone shares one canvas and tries to get the AI to say the word within sixty seconds. Every player gets a limited amount of ink per word, so on a shared canvas one fast artist cannot carry the team: you have to agree who draws the outline, who adds the ears and who saves ink for the one detail that makes it obvious. Writing letters never counts. A game is five words and takes about five minutes.

How to Play Team Sketch

Team Sketch Rules

  • Before the start the host picks Race or Draw together. Race: two or three players each get their own canvas; four to eight split into two teams. Draw together: everyone shares one canvas. One player always plays against the clock.
  • Every player sees the same word. Draw it on your canvas. On a shared canvas, your lines appear for your teammates as you finish them.
  • An AI looks at each canvas every few seconds and shows its three best guesses. When one of them is the word, that canvas wins the word.
  • In a race, the first canvas the AI names gets the point. Together, beat the sixty-second clock.
  • Each player has limited ink for each word. Erase my last line takes back your own last line and gives the ink back.
  • No letters, words or numbers on the canvas. The AI notices writing and a guess made from writing does not count.
  • A game is five words. In a race the player or team with more words wins; together, aim to get all five.

Tips to Win

  • Start with the big outline. The AI recognises a shape long before it recognises details.
  • Split the job out loud: one person draws the body, another adds the parts that make it unmistakable.
  • Watch the guesses. If the AI says "dog" and the word is cat, add whiskers and pointed ears rather than redrawing.
  • Save some ink. The last detail often wins the word, and a player with no ink left cannot add it.
  • In teams, glance at the other canvas: if their drawing is close, simplify yours and get the obvious feature down fast.

Best for

Team Sketch is for groups that like drawing games but not the waiting. In most drawing games one person draws while everyone else watches and guesses; here everybody draws at once, so even two people on a video call are busy every second. It suits friends, families and remote teams, works on phones and computers, and needs no drawing talent: the AI is generous with rough shapes, and the shared ink means the best artist cannot do it alone.

Team Sketch FAQ

In Pictionary one player draws and the others guess. In Team Sketch everyone draws together on one canvas and an AI does the guessing, so nobody sits out.

Yes. One player can play against the clock, but it is more fun with two or three drawing on the same canvas.

Yes, that is the default. Two or three players each draw on their own canvas and race; four or more split into a Blue team and a Pink team. The host can switch to Draw together before the start.

No. The AI checks for letters and numbers, and a guess made from writing never counts.

Yes. Draw with your finger. The canvas keeps the same shape on every screen, so lines land in the same place for everyone.
