More games to try
Organising an online quiz night in New Zealand usually leaves one person stuck writing questions after work, fighting with screen share and tallying scores on paper while everyone else has a laugh. This runs the quiz night for you so the organiser gets to play too. Open a private room, drop the four-letter code into Messenger, WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams, and Quick Minds deals the questions, times the buzzer and updates the leaderboard after every round. Everyone joins from their own phone, tablet or laptop browser with no app download and no mandatory signup. It works whether your flat in Wellington or Dunedin wants a fast weeknight quiz, your workplace social club in Auckland or Christchurch is hosting Friday drinks, or your group is catching up with mates and whanau across the Ditch in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
How to host your quiz night
- 1.Open a private room in seconds - no signup or app install needed.
- 2.Share the four-letter room code in Messenger, WhatsApp, Discord or Microsoft Teams.
- 3.Start the buzzer quiz and pick your categories (including the Aussie & Kiwi Trivia pack) and round count.
- 4.Buzz in from your own phone while your call stays open - speed bonuses and scoring happen automatically.
Why run your Kiwi quiz night here?
Most quiz-night pages you find on Google are just static question lists that still need a quizmaster and a spreadsheet. Here the questions, millisecond buzzer and live scoreboard are built into the room, and because it runs in any mobile browser it works smoothly on ordinary mobile data as well as fibre. Once the quiz rounds wrap up, the exact same lobby can jump straight into Pictionary drawing rounds, charades or hidden-role games like Imposter and Mafia Lite without sending a new link.
Frequently asked questions
Is the online quiz night free to play in New Zealand?
Yes. Every game on Game Night Central is free to play in the browser. Friends and workmates join as guests using the four-letter room code, and an optional host membership removes ads and unlocks every trivia and word pack for the room.
Do players need to download an app or create an account?
No. Everything runs in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox on phones, tablets and laptops with instant guest entry.
Does it work with mates in Australia or the UK?
Yes. Because a room opens in seconds from a single link, it is ideal for catch-ups across New Zealand and Australian time zones or weekend calls with friends in London.
How many people can join one quiz room?
Standard rooms hold 2 to 12 players and large-group modes support up to 20 players at once, covering a full flat, workplace team or family call.
