More games to try
Ever since round-table bluffing shows took over British television, everyone wants to play the traitor from the sofa - until someone actually has to deal out role cards, run the night phase and sit out as host. Game Night Central runs the whole thing in the browser as Mafia Lite. Open a private room, drop the four-letter code into the WhatsApp group or Discord call, and everyone gets a secret role on their own phone. The game handles the night actions, the timer and the round-table vote automatically, so the person who organised the evening plays alongside everyone else. It fits a Friday night call with mates across the UK, a flatmate games night, a hen or stag do icebreaker, or a remote team social where people want something livelier than another general knowledge round.
How to run a round
- 1.Open a private room in the browser - it takes seconds and needs no account.
- 2.Send the four-letter room code or invite link to your WhatsApp group, Discord server or Teams call.
- 3.Start Mafia Lite - the game assigns secret roles on each player's screen with no moderator needed.
- 4.Debate on your call, cast your votes on your phone, and see whether the village or the traitors win.
Why play it here?
Most hidden-role games ask everyone to buy an app or leave one person out to moderate the rounds. Here every player joins free in the mobile or desktop browser, and the game runs the phases and counts the votes itself. And when the accusations get too heated after three rounds, the same room switches straight into a virtual pub quiz, a drawing round or a word game without sharing a new link.
Frequently asked questions
Is this like The Traitors, Werewolf or Mafia?
Yes. Mafia Lite follows the classic hidden-role format: a small group secretly works against the room, and everyone debates and votes each round to unmask them.
Does someone have to sit out as the host or narrator?
No. The browser deals out secret roles, runs the night phase and tallies the votes automatically, so everyone in the group gets to play.
Is it free and do mates need to download an app?
It is completely free to play in the browser. Mates join as guests with the four-letter room code from any phone, tablet or laptop.
Can an optional host membership unlock extras for the whole room?
Yes. Core play is free for everyone, and if the host has a Lite or Elite membership it unlocks extra packs and ad-free play for the entire lobby.
