Lie Detector
A fun online social bluffing game. Judge answers and try to detect who is hiding the truth on your next game night.

About Lie Detector
Lie Detector puts one player in the hot seat each round. The game asks a personal question, the player in the hot seat types an answer, and secretly says whether it is the truth or made up. Then the group gets to work: an open round of questions where anyone can grill the player in the hot seat, followed by a locked-in vote of TRUTH or LIE from every other player.
The reveal pays out points to sharp guessers, but a convincing liar earns points for every player they fooled, so playing the hot seat well is just as valuable as reading it. Because the questions are personal and the questioning is live conversation, it doubles as one of the best get-to-know-you games on the site.
Lie Detector Rules
- Each round, the AI writes a question and one random player goes in the hot seat.
- The player in the hot seat types an answer and secretly marks it as a truth or a lie.
- During the questions, everyone else can ask the player in the hot seat anything out loud.
- When the host advances, all other players cast a final TRUTH or LIE vote. Votes are locked once cast.
- After every vote is in, the host reveals the verdict.
- Correct voters earn 10 points each; the player in the hot seat earns 5 points for every player they fooled.
Tips to Win
- In the hot seat, deliver truths and lies with the same tone and pacing. Most players get caught by a change in delivery, not by the story itself.
- A boring true story told awkwardly beats an elaborate lie. If you must lie, borrow details from something that actually happened to you.
- When you ask, go for specifics fast: times, names, places. Liars improvise details more slowly than they recall them.
- Vote on the details, not on confidence. Charismatic friends are exactly the ones who profit from your gut feeling.
- Track how each friend behaves when you know they told the truth. That baseline is your real lie detector over multiple rounds.
Best for
Perfect for friend groups who enjoy reading each other and talking their way out of trouble. It shines with people who know each other a little but not completely, which also makes it a strong icebreaker for new groups, parties, and remote calls where you want conversation built into the game.
