Tactical Debrief (FAQ)
Every game in this guide is free to play in a browser, including Imposter, Mafia Lite, Pictionary, Charades and Blind Maze. You create a room, send the invite link, and players join from any phone, tablet, or computer without downloading anything or creating an account.
Social deduction games like Imposter and Mafia Lite are best with five or more, because they need enough players to hide in. Drawing and prompt games work from three players up. If you have exactly two, the head-to-head games are the better pick.
Yes, and it is one of the better reasons to use a browser game. Everyone joins the same room from their own device, so it makes no difference whether a player is on the sofa or on a video call. Put the video call on the TV if you want the remote players on the big screen, but keep the game on each person's own phone.
Pictionary. It needs no rules explanation, no reading, and no social risk, and it gets people laughing before you ask them to accuse each other of anything. Save the deduction games for after the group has warmed up.
Create a room, press Save lobby so it stays open, and send the invite link to the group chat. Play Category Blitz while people arrive, Imposter as the main game and Vote Party to finish. Each one explains itself in the first round.
Blind Maze. Up to 8 players race through the same dark maze with only a small circle of light each, and a race is over in a few minutes. Pictionary and Charades also work well for children, because the words to draw or act out are short.
Not for the games, but it helps for the social deduction ones. Being able to see a face while someone claims innocence is most of the fun. Run Discord or Zoom alongside the browser tab; the games do not need microphone access themselves.
